In my years of doing energy work and working at Soul Centered, Chakras have been consistently discussed. It seems that a basic understanding of the chakra system is important to every area of study in the metaphysical field, and can be very helpful in improving our lives.
Chakras are seven energy points that correspond to our Endocrine system. The word “chakra” comes from Sanskrit and means “wheel” or “vortex.” Chakras can be accessed for use in energy healing and yoga practices. The most important thing working with the chakras can do is keep you balanced and happy. Most stressors in your life – financial worries, insomnia, stress, anger, insecurity, and difficulty communicating – can all be addressed by working with your chakras.
In this article, I include information about crystals* and sprays from the Aunt Vi’s collection that will benefit the chakras. Crystals are a wonderful (and very simple) way to balance the chakras, helping you achieve your fullest potential on your spiritual journey. Aunt Vi’s sprays are designed to align your chakras and strengthen them, and can be sprayed in an arc above you. Made from crystal elixirs and essential oils, these sprays are an amazing way to create the safe environment you need to do your work.
The first chakra is your Root Chakra, also called Muladhara. It is associated with your adrenals, which secrete several hormones, one of which is adrenalin (Epinephrine). The root chakra is represented by the color red or black. It is below your pelvic bone and controls your confidence, your stability, your self-expression, and in some teachings, your sexuality. If this chakra is closed or out of balance with your other chakras, you can feel really anxious and impatient, awkward when trying to express yourself, light-headed or dazed, and either overly aggressive with your sexuality or really uncomfortable with it. It is important that this chakra be balanced because it is related to how grounded you feel in the physical world. If you focus only on your other chakras, and cannot bring that work all the way down through your root chakra, your work with the other chakras doesn’t do you much good.
These crystals help open and stabilize the base chakra energy: Black Tourmaline, Bloodstone, Carnelian, Fire Agate, Obsidian, Red Jasper, and Smokey Quartz. The Aunt Vi sprays that affect the Root Chakra are Energy and Grounding, Interconnectedness, and Divine Love (you can find the sprays here.)
The second chakra is the Sacral Chakra, also known as Svadhishthana, and is represented by the color orange. It is associated with the ovaries or testicles. This chakra is at the seat of your pelvis, and stimulates your creativity, your sensuality, your intuition, and your ability to process your life lessons. Some teachings consider this chakra to be the seat of sexuality. When this chakra is closed or off balance, you will feel stuck in life and unable to work through the simplest processes. When this chakra is in line with the others, it is easier for you to accept the lessons in your life, express yourself in the ways you would like, and be balanced with your sensual energies.
The following crystals support the sacral chakra: Citrine, Jasper (any color), Orange Calcite, and Topaz. The Aunt Vi sprays made to work with the Sacral Chakra are Interconnectedness, Enlightenment, and Wisdom.
The third chakra is your Solar Plexus Chakra, also called Manipura. It is associated with the pancreas, which secretes insulin. Yellow represents this chakra because it is known as the “Happy Chakra.” This chakra is the center of your joy and personal power. Some teach that it is also related to intuition. “Listen to your gut” is a very common phrase and it is true that your “gut” can give you guidance. This chakra is the first to be affected by negative people because of its association with personal power, and for many women, it is the weakest chakra. When this chakra is closed, you will feel depressed, stuck, tired, and anxious. When it is in balance you can fully enjoy life without feeling like you are vulnerable to constant attack. This chakra is also the chakra that helps release past trauma, so take care of it. Manipura will always protect you when you honor it.
These crystals open and cleanse your solar plexus chakra: Citrine, Rhodochrosite, Tiger’s Eye, and Malachite. (Warning: Malachite is a crystal to be used only by people serious about releasing all past trauma. If you are not ready, this crystal is not for you.) The Aunt Vi sprays formulated for the Solar Plexus Chakra are Wisdom, Happiness, and Brave Heart.
The fourth chakra is your Heart Chakra, or Anahata, and is associated with the thymus. It is represented by the colors green and pink. The green part of your heart chakra is the goal and direction part. It is your determination, drive, and confidence. The pink part of the Heart Chakra is the love part: loving yourself, life, and the people around you. The Heart Chakra brings in unconditional understanding and acceptance, while releasing fear and anxiety. By loving yourself, you are more likely to follow your destined path and your passions. Of course, if this chakra is closed you will not be able to process emotions accurately or be able to forgive yourself, and you may feel “stuck.” By opening your Heart Chakra, you can accept as strengths what you might otherwise see as your shortcomings. Many also consider the Heart Chakra to be the “gateway” chakra, connecting the lower three “physical” chakras to the upper three “spiritual” chakras.
These crystals are very supportive for your heart chakra: Apophyllite, Aventurine, Chrysocolla, Danburite, Green Tourmaline, Kunzite, Lepidolite, Mica, Morganite, Peridot, Pink Opal, Pink Tourmaline, Red Calcite, Rhodonite, Rose Quartz, Ruby, and Watermelon Tourmaline. The Aunt Vi sprays that can be helpful when working on the Heart Chakra are Brave Heart, Prosperity and Abundance, Unconditional Love, Creativity and Flow, and Divine Love.
The fifth chakra is your Throat Chakra, or Visuddha, which is represented by a light blue color. It is connected to the thyroid. The throat chakra, as you can imagine, is all about communication. It is a very masculine chakra since it allows you to express yourself clearly without any regrets or second-guessing. When this chakra is closed, you have issues with your thoughts and speaking what is on your mind. It can lead to feelings of insecurity and/or resentment.
These crystals enhance your throat chakra: Amber, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Azurite, Blue Topaz, Petalite, Sapphire, and Turquoise. The Aunt Vi sprays designed to address the Throat Chakra are Creativity and Flow, and Peace and Communication.
The sixth chakra is your Third Eye Chakra, or Ajna, which is represented by an indigo color. It is associated with the pituitary gland. The third eye chakra contains all of your psychic strength and intuitive gifts. This chakra gives you access to the higher energies that bring you insight and messages from your subconscious that need to be heard. When this chakra is closed, you will feel cut off from the rest of the world and from the gifts that have been given to you to help you on your journey. This chakra can be strengthened by meditation and prayer.
The crystals that strengthen the third eye are Apophyllite, Azurite, Fluorite, Herkimer, Lapis, Sapphire, and Sodalite. The Aunt Vi spray for the Third Eye Chakra is Protection and Intuition.
The last chakra is the Crown Chakra, or Sahasrara, which can be represented by a violet or white color. It is connected to the pineal gland. When this chakra is clouded, or under attack, you may feel very vulnerable, fatigued, emotionally unstable, and blocked off. Some consider it to be your connection to Source energy, or your Higher Self. This chakra needs to be cleansed regularly by anyone who is serious about doing spiritual work.
The crystals that benefit the Crown Chakra the most are Apophyllite, Celestite, Lepidolite, Moldavite, Petalite, and Selenite. The Aunt Vi sprays you would use for this chakra are the Healing and Transformation spray, and the Divine Love spray.
There are a couple of sprays designed to work with your entire chakra system, and they are the Sanctuary spray and the Purifying and Cleansing spray. I use this wonderful line of sprays on a daily basis, and they definitely help me when stress and the many obstacles of life overwhelm me. Hopefully they will help you as well.
Enjoy the journey,
Sierra Glenn.
